What’s New?

CAMplete Solutions Partners with Haas F1 Team

CAMplete Solutions Inc., has partnered with Haas F1 Team in the FIA Formula One World Championship.

CAMplete TruePath provides sophisticated yet easy-to-use tools for simulating and verifying tool paths by delivering an unprecedented level of control over the programs utilized by CNC machinists. With CAMplete TruePath’s tool path editor, all data is kept synchronized regardless of what edits are made.

“Every program created in our shop is posted and simulated in CAMplete TruePath,” said Greg Syverson, CNC Shop Manager, Haas F1 Team. “It has been invaluable for helping us achieve successful, unattended machining of complex components made specifically for wind-tunnel testing on our 60-percent scale-model car.”

Haas F1 Team Partnership

Real-time simulation from CAMplete TruePath shows users how their programs will operate in the real world. Problems can be identified and corrected before a program is ever sent to a milling machine. Simulating the true machine path allows operators to isolate 5-axis deviation errors, eliminating guess work. This is crucial in the high-tech world of Formula One, where tolerances are incredibly tight and success or failure is determined by thousandths of a second.

“We are thrilled to officially announce our partnership with Haas F1 Team,” said Jeff Fritsch, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, CAMplete. “Formula One is more than an exciting worldwide sporting event watched by millions, it is also one of the most technically challenging fields of engineering. Knowing the complex nature of the work done by Haas F1 Team, we are proud that our software solutions are providing the team the tools it needs to compete at the highest level. At CAMplete, we thrive on helping our users excel in the most challenging endeavors. We are excited for the challenges ahead and look forward to supporting and growing with Haas F1 Team in the FIA Formula One World Championship.”

CAMplete Solutions Celebrates 20 Years of Success

This summer marks the 20-year anniversary of CAMplete Solutions Inc. Since 1998 CAMplete has specialized in the development of advanced NC post-processing and verification solutions dedicated to 5 axis and multi-tasking technology, for manufacturers in major industries around the world. CAMplete customers benefit from dramatic improvements to CNC machine optimization, NC programmer productivity and manufacturing process efficiency.

From our original product, CAMplete Port to our now flagship product, CAMplete TruePath, and everything else in between, one thing has remained constant for over 20 years: helping our customers get the most out of their machines. CAMplete will be previewing the newest edition of TruePath at IMTS this fall.

Look at the pictures below to see how far we have come. From TruePath then, to TruePath now.

BioDapt Produced Prosthetics Used by More than 20 Paralympians

Plethora, a software-enabled smart manufacturing company, performed one of their first projects on their newly installed Matsuura MX-520, for Biodapt. BioDapt, designs, manufactures and distributes high performance lower limb prosthetic components used for action sports and other similar activities.

The Moto Knee and Versa Foot were created by Mike Schultz, a professional snowmobile racer who lost his leg above the knee in 2008 due to an injury while racing. Mike wanted to get back doing the activities he loved, however, nothing on the market allowed him to compete as he did before his operation. That combined with the realization that other amputees could also benefit from his equipment led to the creation of Biodapt.

Schultz list of accomplishments is already a long one, and this month he has the opportunity to add to it. Not only will Schultz himself be competing in the PyeonChang 2018 Paralympics, more than 20 Paralympians will be using BioDapt produced prosthetics.

Since we last updated this story, Mike Schultz has been awarded the ESPY Award for Best Male Athlete with a Disability, won gold and silver at the 2018 Paralympics, was featured on a Frosted Flakes box and served as the flag-bearer for the United States at the 2018 Winter Paralympics Parade of Nations.

How did CAMplete come into the equation? Michael Von Sothen, CNC Program Manager at Plethora had this to say:

“We bought the Matsuura MX-520 to support the growing demand for higher complexity parts, where tighter tolerances need to be held and a better surface finish is needed. With the addition of the Matsuura MX-520 and CAMplete software, we have been able to run multiple parts at a time with simultaneous 5 axis toolpaths and have the confidence to run the programs without collisions. This increases our productivity by keeping the doors shut and the spindle running for longer periods of time.”
