CAMplete Solutions Announces Partnership with ETG
CAMplete Solutions has joined forces with Engineering Technology Group to supply CAMplete software across the UK and Ireland. CAMplete joins ETG’s already established software portfolio, with industry-leading products including Mastercam and CIMCO. CAMplete Truepath TurnMill will be shipped with all ETG Nakamura-Tome machines, and CAMplete TruePath will come standard with all new Chiron, Hardinge Bridgeport, Quaser, and Bavius machine sales.
Through this partnership, ETG continues to provide their customers with turnkey packages that improve cycle times, remove production bottlenecks and save customers money. Jamie Fletchmoore, Director General Manager at ETG Ireland had this to say about the partnership:
“Our partnership with CAMplete provides another dimension to our all-round service. After generating tool paths and checking the full kinematics of the machine, users can then run their code through the software for post processing, simulation and optimization.”
He continued: “These solutions can potentially be fitted to all of the CNC machine tools we supply from new, with some also available to be retrofitted. The ability to avoid costly collisions can save thousands of pounds in replacement parts and machine downtime. Not only does it safeguard the machine, it gives the end user optimization over the process as they can see in real time what the actual cycle time of the part will be, without cutting anything. Once it has been proven, the program can be sent direct into the machine ready to go.”

BioDapt Produced Prosthetics Used by More than 20 Paralympians
Plethora, a software enabled smart manufacturing company, performed one of their first projects on their newly installed Matsuura MX-520, for Biodapt. BioDapt, designs, manufactures and distributes high performance lower limb prosthetic components used for action sports and other similar activities.
The Moto Knee and Versa Foot were created by Mike Schultz, a professional snowmobile racer who lost his leg above the knee in 2008 due to an injury while racing. Mike wanted to get back doing the activities he loved, however nothing on the market allowed him to compete as he did before his operation. That combined with the realization that other amputees could also benefit from his equipment led to the creation of Biodapt.
Schultz list of accomplishments is already a long one, and this month he has the opportunity to add to it. Not only will Schultz himself be competing in the PyeonChang 2018 Paralympics, more than 20 Paralympians will be using BioDapt produced prosthetics.
How did CAMplete come into the equation? Michael Von Sothen, CNC Program Manager at Plethora had this to say:
“We bought the Matsuura MX-520 to support the growing demand for higher complexity parts, where tighter tolerances need to be held and a better surface finish is needed. With the addition of the Matsuura MX-520 and CAMplete software we have been able to run multiple parts at a time with simultaneous 5 axis toolpaths and have the confidence to run the programs without collisions. This increases our productivity by keeping the doors shut and the spindle running for longer periods of time.”

Matsuura USA Case Study
Matsuura USA has recently shared a case study to their website that was previously featured in Modern Machine Shop. This case study goes into detail about how MAC Machine Company drastically reduced set-up times using TruePath Software and Matsuura Multi-Pallet systems.
The shop used CAMplete TruePath Software to bridge the gap between their CAM System and their Matsuura Machine. Shop foreman, John Leonard stated that TruePath Software gives them an invaluable edge over the competition which he believes was a key part in their companies success with lights-out machining.
With multi-pallet systems and CAMplete software MAC Machine Shop was able to make some very impressive improvements. These include, a 30 percent reduction in labour rate, a 70 percent reduction in the number of cycles required to machine a part, and an 85 percent reduction in set up time.
